Editor's NoteStephanie Stroud Happy World Landscape Architecture Month! That's right-- us landscape architects get a whole month to celebrate our work around the globe, and we're stoked about it. How have you been celebrating WLAM? Have you shared photos of your favorite landscape architect-designed space, basked in the sun in your favorite park, biked on your favorite trail, or perhaps volunteered to mentor a landscape architect-in-training? There is no wrong way to celebrate WLAM. And, in a timely combination of events, Earth Day is this Friday, April 22nd, and this entire week is National Park Week, which means free admission to all national parks! In the spirit of all of these wonderful happenings, I would like to leave you with a quote from John Muir, the father of the National Parks; consider these words as you lace your boot straps and gather your wool trousers on your way to a job site, "Most people who travel look only at what they are directed to look at. Great is the power of the guidebook maker, however ignorant.” As landscape architects, we are the guidebook makers, and we have the great power. Let us harness our ability to create experiences with the natural world and use it for its very best. As always, feel free to send me your stories: [email protected] Until Next Time,
