Volunteer Spotlight: Carrie Culp

Carrie Culp served as WASLA President twice, most recently as your 2011-2012 President.  Those two terms represents a total six-year commitment, from president-elect through past-president.  During her time on the Executive Committee, through her conscientious commitment to staying within WASLA’s annual budget, Carrie put the method in place to fund our reserve fund, which allows WASLA to continue to operate during rough economic times or provide emergency funding for advocacy or unforeseen events.  Carrie also started our WASLA Scholarship, Awards, and Mentorship programs and currently serves as the UW liaison to the Executive Committee and the Student and Emerging Professionals Committee for those programs.

Carrie is now putting her leadership and organizational skills to a new cause as the new Executive Director of Painted Dog Research Trust USA, an organization dedicated to saving the endangered painted dogs of Africa.  Carrie would like to invite you to for a Lecture and Auction to benefit Painted Dog Research Trust at 7pm on January 8th at the Ballard Elks Club.
