Volunteer Spotlight: Tim Slazinik

The Puget Sound area welcomed a new Landscape Architect last summer, Tim Slazinik. Tim is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and studied at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. After graduating, he worked briefly in southern Florida, then returned to his hometown of St. Louis to work at Arcturis, a multidisciplinary firm, for 6 years; then onto HOK, working on corporate, civic, and healthcare projects in the Central and Southern United States, and abroad in the Middle East. Tim was awarded the St. Louis Business Journal’s 30 under 30 award in 2013.

Tim’s love of Seattle stems from his infatuation for Richard Haag’s Gas Works Park, which he studied in school. He jumped at the chance to move to Washington State and take a position at GGLO in downtown Seattle; and challenge himself to work on different project types.

Tim has been very involved with ASLA over the years, serving in a variety of roles, including St. Louis Chapter President and National Nominating Committee. Tim happily took on the role of Chair for WASLA’s Membership and Social Events Committee last October, to contribute in any way that he can. We’re lucky to have him!
