On Friday, you will learn from the inventors and world leaders of natural swimming pool designs, BIOTOP Inc. Discover the basics of natural pool design, how natural pools evolved, and how natural pools are revolutionizing the pool industry worldwide.

On Saturday, visit a backyard pool and perform a design charette to apply a living example of transforming a conventional system into a natural pool.
Learning Objectives:
  • Find out how biological swimming pools can be incorporated into contemporary landscape architecture.
  • Learn about the components necessary to operate natural swimming pools.
  • Gain insight into the nutrient cycle and its importance in maintaining clear water.
  • Understand how chlorinated pools can be converted into biological pools.
