Raven Terrace
Project Title: Raven Terrace Landscape Architect: Weber Thompson Category: Category III - Residential Design Multi-Family Location: Seattle, WA Description: Raven Terrace is an affordable multifamily building completed in Seattle’s Yesler Terrace neighborhood, a community rich in history, perched on a hill just minutes from Seattle’s central business district. The landscape and courtyard of the new building were designed with an emphasis on creating a strong sense of community and safety for the residents. From the spacious landscape that surrounds the building, to the courtyard that leads residents directly to their front doors and building main entrance, Raven Terrace was meticulously designed to convey itself as a step above other affordable housing communities in Seattle. With the development comprised of only 30% median income affordable units, most residents travel on foot. Creating a unique entry experience custom to residents’ lifestyles became a special feature of the building. The courtyard is a large area complete with a spacious pedestrian walkway, benches for gathering and plants that are bright, floral and fragrant.
