Conference Updates

Greetings members and Conference Registrants,

WASLA is excited to announce that registration for our 2020 Virtual Conference is now live! We thank you for your flexibility as this year has been a unique challenge, but we are thrilled to bring you an exciting array of educational sessions and social opportunities in this new format. Our volunteers are working incredibly hard to transition all of this amazing content online for you, our members.

Pricing is as follows:

ASLA Washington Chapter Members: $60
Non Members: $100
Student ASLA Members: Free!
Student Non Members: $30 (Note: Student membership is free at asla.org)

A few notes:

• If you have previously registered and paid for the in-person conference from March 2020, you will be receiving a refund in the coming weeks for the difference in registration fees. Your registration will transfer over to this virtual event.
• This registration gives you access to all sessions, both during the day, and for 3 months afterwards, so you can attend and claim all of the CEUs offered

Greetings members at Conference Registrants

As you know, our WASLA 2020 conference has been postponed due to the COVID 19 Pandemic. We have made the decision to transition our conference and educational content to a virtual venue! We are working hard to re-tool our presentations for online consumption. We will be holding our first ever Virtual WASLA Conference on Thursday October 22^nd 2020.  The conference will be a day-long event, starting with an opening session, morning educational sessions, lunch session, afternoon sessions, and a closing session/happy hour with interstitial breaks throughout the day. As our speakers prepare for this new format, we would like to note a few changes for our members and attendees.

Changes:

• Due to the cancellation of our physical venue, we can pass on savings to you!
• Current Registrants will receive a partial refund to reflect the revised price of the conference, reflecting the reduction in facilities cost of our previous physical venue. New prices are $60 for WASLA Members and $100 for non-members.  Student ASLA members are Free, and Student Non members are $30.
• New registrants can sign up at the reduced cost as well.
• Attendees will receive virtual login credentials and instructions prior to the conference date in order to attend sessions and receive CEU credits
• All sessions will be recorded and offered to registered attendees, so you will be able to attend all sessions, regardless of track.

We will be sharing more information about our amazing sessions in the coming weeks. Registration will re-open next week! Partial refunds for those that have already registered will be processed prior to the date of the conference.

Dear WASLA Members and Conference Attendees,

I hope you all are staying safe as we continue to experience an extremely unique year. I want to give you an update regarding the 2020 WASLA conference.

The Board of Directors have decided to move forward with a postponement to November the 2^nd as an in-person event at this time. This decision is based on a preference for an in-person event, if possible, but with knowledge that should the COVID crisis not allow us to gather, we will switch to a virtual format.

The board will continue to monitor this situation and as soon as we feel there is adequate reason to believe that gathering will not be possible, we will make the call to go virtual. Decisions about the format and length of a virtual conference will be made if/when we decide to go that route.

The closing reception as it stands now will be reworked and combined with the Annual Awards ceremony. The Georgetown Ballroom will still host the in person awards event, unless the Governors orders preclude us from doing so, then this too will move to a virtual scenario. More info to come on this event.

As was the case earlier this year, all registrations will carry over to the revised date, and all refunds will be given if registrants aren’t able to attend. We know this WASLA conference in an important networking and educational opportunity for our members, and we will do everything possible to make sure it is a safe and productive meeting. Safety and health are our highest concerns, and should the conference not be possible in person, we will notify you all immediately and switch to a virtual format.

Dear WASLA Members, Partners, and conference attendees,

In light of the current COVID-19 situation and the concerns regarding large gatherings, WASLA has decided to postpone our upcoming conference at the Seattle Airport Marriott. Your health and safety are our first priority and given the escalation of the coronavirus concerns, we determined the best course of action was to postpone until a later date. We have been able to re-book at the same location for July 22-23, 2020.

The conference has been postponed until Thursday July 23^rd, with the Opening Reception occurring on Wednesday July 22^nd. All registrations for the conference will be transferred and honored for the revised dates. Anyone who has not yet registered can still register for the July date. Anyone who is unable to attend because of the change will receive a refund upon request.

Please continue to monitor the WASLA website as we update the sessions and agenda based on presenter availability. 

If you reserved a hotel room at the Seattle Airport Marriott for the March dates, they will be cancelled for you.  We will send out a new room block booking link as soon as we receive it.
