Andrew tenBrink - Director at Field Operations

Andrew leads transformative, public realm projects with a deep commitment to delivering high quality parks and open spaces—shaping cities that are inclusive, dynamic, and enduring. He excels at guiding interdisciplinary teams to realize ambitious project visions from concept through completion.

As a Director at Field Operations, Andrew has spent 15 years leading the transformation of Seattle’s Central Waterfront, playing a significant role in guiding the design from concept to construction for all core projects along the waterfront. He has contributed to landmark projects including Qianhai’s Guiwan Park, Cleveland’s Public Square, and Santa Monica’s Tongva Park and Ken Genser Square. Andrew is currently directing the master planning and open space design for Birmingham’s Sports Quarter.

Andrew previously worked at EDAW (now part of AECOM), where he contributed to multiple-profile projects across the country.

Waterfront Seattle, Seattle, WA

Andrew has been the Project Manager for Waterfront Seattle since 2010, a complete redesign of 1.5 miles of Seattle’s Central Waterfront that includes a new promenade, streetscape, roadway, cycle track, green stormwater infrastructure, and cultural planting. Andrew’s role was key to developing the plan for the park promenade and roadway project that reconnects downtown Seattle to its waterfront. He worked with an interdisciplinary consultant team to realize this plan.

Overlook Walk and Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion Roof, Seattle, WA

Andrew was the Project Manager for Overlook Walk and Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion Roof, two transformative projects that connect Pike Place Market to theSeattle Waterfront through an elevated park navigating 100 vertical feet. In his role, Andrew worked with a Tribal consultant team to develop the design, as well as led the design team to develop urban design expertise on structure, playground design, and native material resourcing.

Pier 58, Seattle, WA

Andrew was the Project Manager for Pier 58, a complex project that creates a new public pier park at the heart of the Seattle Waterfront. Andrew’s design leadership was key to developing a design that includes unique pavement, precast concrete seat steps, a lawn, a tree grove, and a playground—all above water. He worked with structural and civil engineers, environmental and permitting consultants, as well as playground and Tribal consultants to bring this design to completion.
