Clear and compelling visualizations are an important component of our process. We are seeking a planner with outstanding graphic skills to support our facility planning projects. Projects may include facility use and condition analysis; projection of future needs and programming; alternative development and scenario evaluation; campus master planning; strategic facility planning; and urban design. Background experience or degree in planning, architecture, or landscape architecture is preferred. All candidates must demonstrate strong graphic skills through application materials. This position will be responsible for project support, data organization and presentation, concept generation, graphic illustrations (diagrams, facility layout plans, site plans, etc.) graphic design of reports/studies and presentation materials, and document production. We are seeking someone who:

  • Can focus on project details and multi-task;
  • Clearly communicates ideas and concepts verbally and graphically;
  • Has interest and is comfortable designing at a planning-level of detail;
  • Enjoys research and analysis;
  • Has strong organizational skills;
  • Is comfortable working on multiple projects at a time in a fast paced, team-oriented environment with the ability to work independently;
  • Is creative, flexible, and has a pragmatic attitude with strong interpersonal communication skills. 

Job Requirements

High level of proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Creative suite (primarily InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, though Dreamweaver, etc. skills a plus) is required for this position. Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and 3D modeling/rendering (SketchUp or Rhino) is preferred. Strong hand graphic skills a plus. Understanding of basic file management practices and experience working in a professional design office environment is required. Some travel may be required. 

Terms of Employment

1-2 years of experience preferred. Entry level candidates that can demonstrate a strong understanding of practices typical of a professional design office will also be considered. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
