Dear WASLA Members and Readers,
Happy New Year! Whether you are firmly sticking to your resolutions, are already breaking them, or are not one to participate in self-promising annual traditions, I hope your 2023 is off to a great start. I want to kick off the year by thanking you all for being members of WASLA. We have nearly five hundred active members; the highest I have seen since being on the board! Without you all, our chapter would not be able to run such an amazing awards ceremony, engage with such supportive sponsors, or put on such an inspiring state conference. Which brings me to my first major announcement, that the call for the 2023 WASLA Awards has opened! You can find more information about the awards submittal process below.
I would also like to give a big thank you to all our fantastic sponsors from 2022. Your support is immensely appreciated by all our members, and we are excited to work with you all again this year. If you are a returning sponsor or are considering becoming a new one, you can also find more information about that process below.
Lastly, even though it feels like it is a year away, I am already thinking about 2023’s WASLA Conference. Last year, I got to work with an awesome group of member volunteers on the Events Committee who helped curate the whole conference experience. From the conference theme down to the hors d’oeuvres, these members did an amazing job putting the event together. If you are a landscape architect who also loves event planning, consider reaching out and volunteering. I will sign off with a cliffhanger and say that I am exceptionally excited about this year’s conference venue and look forward to seeing how we can utilize the space (so if that intrigues you, please email info@wasla.org and ask to join the Events Committee)!
Resolutely,
