KPG is proud to be one of the forefront interdisciplinary design firms in the NW region, with a focus on city-center urban and multi-modal design. Our landscape architects and urban designers specialize in visioning, main streets, festival streets, gateways, wayfinding, plazas, pocket parks, trails, and all aspects of complete street and sustainable design, with communities all over Western and Eastern Washington. We are currently seeking to fill a full-time position in our Tacoma office, to collaborate and support our project team in taking projects from conceptual phases through to construction and completion.

We’re looking for someone who is ready to jump in and contribute immediately to our project work. Successful candidates will be creative, collaborative and comfortable working with our team. Excellent communication skills are essential, both verbal and visual. And, of course, we’d like to see evidence of strong design skills.

Job Requirements

  • 5 - 10 years of professional experience
  • Degree in landscape architecture
  • Experience with latest versions of AutoCAD™ Civil 3D, MS Word, and Excel
  • A desire to work with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and architects on municipal street, trail, plaza and open space projects.
  • Ability to handle multiple project commitments, prioritize and be flexible.
  • Ability take initiative on projects, work independently as well as with our team of design professionals.
  • Demonstrates ability in producing construction documents, technical detailing for construction plans and experience with specification writing.
  • Some experience with construction assistance, including review, RFI response and site visits submittal.
  • Knowledge of local plant material and selection and irrigation design a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign); Sketchup, 3d Max or similar also a plus
  • Strong writing and communication skills
