Dear WASLA Members and Readers,
They say March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. Whoever “they” are has not lived in Seattle, because, from my experience, March comes in cold and gray and goes out slightly less cold and still gray. At least we know what to expect from the weather here!
In WASLA’s most pressing news: the deadline for entries to the Annual WASLA Awards is this Friday, March 15th! You can find links to the call for entries below and on our website under the Events tab. If you have started an awards application, have thought about making one, or are just now thinking about making one, it is still not too late to apply. As always, we cannot wait to see all the amazing projects from our members, and we are excited to celebrate with you all at the Awards Reception on April 18th.
But before we see you all at the Awards Reception, make sure to carve time out in your calendar for our WASLA Trivia Night on April 3rd. Join us at Kell’s Irish Pub from 6 to 8 PM and share your landscape architecture knowledge I know you have been dying to show off. As one of the few times in our lives when memorizing hundreds of Latin plant names can help you win something, I don’t see how you could miss out on this event.
I know I have just given you two events to add to your schedule, but wouldn’t you like more fun events to look forward to? Well, that is absolutely doable through our Open Studio Socials sponsorships! Our Open Studio Socials are a great way to engage and educate members, provide opportunities to network, or show off your workplace or newly constructed project. If you would like to sponsor one of these events or request to host one, please email and inquire at [email protected] to get more information.
Socially,
Nick Zurlini
WASLA President
