Mid-Level Irrigation Designer (5-10 years)

Design Two Four/Two Six is seeking a coachable, curious, positive, and professional individual to join our office. Our office is seeking an experienced irrigation designer to support our Landscape Architecture practice specifically with irrigation system design and construction observation review. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

As an irrigation designer, you will assist the team in the creation of the construction documents by using an AutoCAD based software Land FX. CAD experience and irrigation knowledge is a must. Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in the preparation of irrigation related plans, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for the development of projects.
  • head, pipe, and valve layout, details, and irrigation plans.
  • Review code & agency standards to ensure compliance with irrigation regulations and requirements.
  • Coordinate with consultants on development of irrigation documents.
  • Review construction progress and ensure proper interpretation and compliance with irrigation plans and specifications, quality of materials, and workmanship.
  • Assist in the production of irrigation studies. Prepare reports and recommendations concerning irrigation needs.
  • Miscellaneous CAD drafting as needed.
  • Lead, coordinate, delegate work of other staff and answer questions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • General design principles and practices of irrigation system design.
  • Current irrigation design, construction, and engineering principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of materials and techniques in construction, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems.
  • 5-10 years of experience working in AutoCAD
  • Experience working in Land F/X and Microsoft Office
  • Experience producing construction documents and technical writing
  • Knowledge of construction industry materials (such as irrigation, hardscape, plant material) is preferred
  • Curious. Willing to learn. Coachable.
  • Maintain and update professional skills, including keeping current with new trends and techniques related to irrigation design and related computer software.
  • Detail oriented, professional and positive attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and municipalities.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Travel to various projects review irrigation systems and perform related onsite work.
  • Certified Irrigation designer preferred
  • English speaking / Bilingual

Salary Range: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour (DOE)

 Full-time Employment (40 Hour / Week)

 Hybrid work environment. Not a remote only position.
